Like, and much, the new Lincoln MKZ after handling for several days, in all scenarios we live daily in Mexico City. A new combination of luxury and comfort presents this new Lincoln MKZ appears to be the first installment of the new direction proposed by Lincoln, led by the big Lincoln Continental AutoShow we saw in NYC last year.
Completely new front of the car with more stylized headlamps with LED technology, but above all, a new grill much larger with satin aluminum finish reminds us that it is a descendant of the Lincoln Continental. As we approach the car, it detects our presence and projects the Lincoln badge right under our door, lighting the way. The back is almost equal to the previous line, which does not fully satisfy everyone.
Inside the cabin, the space is immense. Fits perfectly and comfortably anyone, either backward or forward. Luxury finishes and high quality are noticed throughout the interior. The seats have great ergonomics and if that were not enough, they have massage seat and back, for driver and passenger, which believe me, it is a big point in favor of comfort MKZ against the competition. Not all have it and once you try, you’ll never want to turn it off.
The center console is large, proportional to the interior space and is well focused without filling of buttons sometimes confuse. Gear selection is accomplished via the buttons on the console, not through the traditional lever to put Parking or Drive. Right in the center, we found a large color touch screen and entertainment system with SYNC 3, the latest generation of user interface. It is very easy to connect our smartphone and can control certain applications directly on the screen, to be not turning our cell. You can also view the sky through a large panoramic roof that also has functions moonroof.
Previously, the MKZ had a 3.7L V6 naturally aspirated engine that was powerful but not spectacular. For this new line, MKZ comes in two versions: Select with a 2.0 Turbo 4-cylinder 245hp. For more equipped version called Reserve, which was what we tried, found under the hood a V6 engine that develops 350hp 3.0 TwinTurbo. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters SelectShift behind the wheel, focused on comfort without being outdated.
The Management is directed to the enjoyment of every detail, to enjoy every minute behind the wheel, while enjoying the massage seats and pressed the accelerator to feel the turbo boost and the suspension absorbs all the imperfections in the pavement. To enjoy complete connectivity hassle and a large panoramic roof to delight us with the lights of the city. So is the new luxury Lincoln, a bet that will appeal to many.
