By the summer, Google will release the next release of Android, one that in recent months has often been referred to as “Android N” and on whose full name we often questioned. And now we have it: Android will be Android N Nougat, namely nougat. In short, we do not have a version number, but the name is: Nougat follow Android to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but we do not know if it will be version 6.1 or 7.0.
The main features of the next Android release include support for multi-windows mode, which lets you interact with two or more applications at the same time, a new tool for saving data and faster application deployment and system updates operating. The name Nougat code actually does not have relations with the new look and features of the new release techniques, but maintains the tradition that each new version of Android should have the name of a dessert, in alphabetical order. The rule applies since 2009 and that is when Google released Android 1.5 Cupcake. Then it was the turn of:
Donut – Android 1.6
Eclair – Android 2.0 and 2.1
Froyo – Android 2.2
Gingerbread – Android 2.3
Honeycomb – Android 3.x
Ice Cream Sandwich – Android 4.0
Jelly Bean – Android 4.1 to 4.3
KitKat – Android 4.4
Lollipop – Android 5.x
Marshmallow – Android 6.0
Nougat – Android 6.1 or Android 7.0?
As you might have noticed, the alphabet of the letter “C” Cupcake neglecting the letters “A” and “B” which probably gave its name to the first, the very first release of Android operated in domestic and never made public test. The Nougat name has pleasantly surprised us, because now it seemed almost certain the name “Nutella” for the next release. This time, Google has partnered with anyone, least of all with Ferrero.
