The rumors speak of a possible event in their program during this month of October, for Apple: an event focused on the new MacBook Pro Retina and maybe even new iMac. Confirmation comes directly from a major US retailer, Best Buy, which overnight has published on its website the opportunity to buy a new iMac 5K with Intel processors next generation.
We know that when the current Apple iMac possess Intel’s sixth-generation named Skylake. But we also know that just the American company is already producing the new seventh-generation CPU, code-named Kaby Lake. One that appeared strange on the Best Buy site is selling a 5K iMac equipped with its new seventh-generation processors.
The directions precisely talk about a product with a 27-inch display and 32GB of RAM, a hard disk 2TB fusion drive and AMD Radeon R9 M380 graphics card with 2 GB of RAM. In addition to this it is clearly mentioned the seventh-generation Intel i7 processor, ie the new Kaby Lake, with an operating frequency of 3.2 GHz. All for a price, of course high, of $ 3,199.99.
Currently on the Apple site is the same configuration, clearly with sixth-generation i7 clocked at 4.0 GHz, the $ 3,150 price (in our case 3,649 euro), which may be actually think of a hardware upgrade of the new iMac with only $ 50 more than the current version.
Everything still very strange. Especially the fact that this new iMac is online at Best Buy’s website and can be purchased. No removal and therefore no oversight of a product not yet officially presented by Apple? Moreover it is not yet clear whether the new Intel seventh Kaby Lake generation processors are actually ready to machines like the iMac 5K. Everything is still to be verified especially for the fact that Best Buy has not answered any questions regarding these new 5K iMac.
