Astell & Kern has launched a new portable audio player compatible with files in high resolution. The newest is called AK70 and positions on AK jr band (which will replace). The digital-analog converter (DAC) is an integrated CS4398 made by Cirrus Logic. They support sample rates up to 192kHz / 24-bit, playing DSD files (with conversion to PCM) and streaming over Wi-Fi (802.11 b / g / n).
AK70 can act as a USB DAC and is therefore also usable with external sources. And ‘guaranteed compatibility with the accessory CD Ripper, helpful for copying CDs on the built-in memory.
The technical specifications discussing an aluminum chassis, whose dimensions are 60.3 x 96.8 x 13 mm mm. The weight is 132 grams. The display is a 3.3 “touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The supported WAV, FLAC, WMA, MP3, OGG, APE (Normal, High, Fast), AAC, ALAC, AIFF, FDF and DSF. connectivity includes Bluetooth 4.0 (with A2DP, AVRCP and aptX), headphone outputs, balanced and a USB Micro-B. For storing songs are 64GB NAND memory and a microSD slot (supports cards up to 128GB). Comes complete with the battery 2.200mAh.
AK70 will be available from July at a price of 499 pounds, about 620 Euros.
