Continues the wave of arrivals of new desktop PCs and laptops equipped with the latest discrete video cards based on Nvidia’s new architecture Pascal. This time it is the turn of ASUS (again) that presents a new portable compact, powerful and fast, due to its ROG family.
The Asus ROG Strix GL702VM note will be inserted in the enormous group known as Republic Of Gamers, one of the most popular Taiwanese brands. The gadget in question is a compact lightweight portable, powerful but not overdone or in the hardware configuration and even less from a design point of view.
The chassis features a generally quite clean design with some hints of aggressive details and a bit ‘naff usually found on devices from gaming – do not miss of course the backlit keyboard. Although this is not a portable small, with a 17.3-inch display, Asus has maintained the rather small size, obtaining a maximum thickness of 24 mm and a total weight of 2.7 grams with the battery.
As the ROG Strix GL702VM anticipated uses one of the latest Nvidia GPU, more specifically a GeForce GTX 1060, the cheapest model of the new family; a good choice to get more than satisfactory performance and maintain content price and energy profile.
As for costs, the new Asus laptop will be sold in two models, DB71 and DB74, the first equipped only with 1TB HDD, the second with the addition of a 256GB SSD PCIE Gen3X4 respectively with a starting price of 1399 and $ 1,599.
