For years, the ASUS Transformer were considered hybrids with Windows “par excellence”, the first and also the best known to offer a complete experience both as a tablet and as a notebook. They have never been very expensive but last summer (remember we were in the halls of Computex Taipei 2016), ASUS has introduced two new models: the ASUS Transformer 3 (T305) and the ASUS Transformer 3 Pro (T303), a which it is then added a third small ASUS Transformer Mini (T102).
ASUS Transformer 3 Pro
The three hybrid 2-in-1 were presented officially in Italy last September and have already purchased in our stores in multiple configurations for a few days. They are no longer low-cost tablet, but powerful devices designed for productivity and safety of those who use them, and also quite expensive. And of course the ASUS Transformer 3 Pro is no exception and is on sale in Italy in two SKUs:
Excluding the processor and amount of RAM, the two models have practically the same technical details: a touch 12.6-inch display with wide viewing angles of 178 °, resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels (275 PPI), Windows 10, a door USB Type-C / 3 Thunderbolt, USB 3.0 full-size HDMI, WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1, two Harman Kardon speakers 2W, 13-megapixel rear camera and front of 2 megapixels, plus a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello and a 39Wh battery.
The price of both SKU (among others available only in the color Titanium Grey) includes the thin keyboard Soft Keyboard, which transforms the tablet into notebook.
If you remember, in fact, ASUS Transformer 3 Pro is a masterpiece of design, made of aluminum and magnesium alloy of high quality which makes it very light – only 800 grams – and incredibly thin, with a thickness of just 8.35 mm, for this compromising strength. The cover with diamond-cut edges gives it an extra touch of elegance and refinement, while the convenient integrated metal bracket allows you to position the screen to the preferred angle, up to 170 ° for maximum comfort. ASUS Transformer 3 Pro also supports ASUS Pen 2048 levels of pressure which is included in the package.
Some might turn up their nose to the price of this tablet and think about buying a Surface Pro 4, but the accounts in hand is not convenient, and now we do this: a Surface Pro 4 configured with Core i7, 16GB of RAM and 512GB costs in 2499 Euros (compared to EUR 1800 Transformer 3 Pro) and the Type Cover will have to be purchased separately to 150 € approx.
