The ZenBook have become so much especially in the last year (and this is not always a good thing!) That someone has become difficult to recognize even the novelty of the old models. But not for us: the ASUS ZenBook UX510 (UX510UW) is in fact a new premium Taiwanese ultrabook, exposed for the entire Computex 2016 in the ASUS booth but practically gone unnoticed despite the bustle of people, including the merely curious and competent insiders. It will be for many devices or for times too short at the fair, but the ZenBook UX510 we only noticed us and we spent a bit ‘of time in his company.
Do not confuse the ASUS ZenBook UX510 with the ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501 because, although very similar in design and technical specifications, have some fundamental differences: the latter model is thinner and lighter than the “professional” version, does not integrate Thunderbolt and its speakers are signed Harman Kardon (non-Bang & Olufsen). Rather, we can consider the ASUS ZenBook UX510 as the older brother dell’ASUS ZenBook UX310 (this is also a novelty of this year’s Computex), a 15.6-inch ultrabook largest and welcoming for those looking for a compact car despite its tonnage (382 x 255 x 19.9 mm and weight of 2 kg).
ASUS ZenBook UX510 has the same design of the ZenBook family: the chassis is constructed from brushed aluminum finish with the typical concentric circle on the cover and a comfortable black keyboard backlit white LED contrasts inside. We notice the presence of a numeric keypad and a precise and large touchpad with bevelled edges diamond-cut and selection buttons below the sensitive surface.
Turning to the technical specifications, the ASUS ZenBook UX510 (UX510UW) is equipped with a quad-core Intel Core i7-6500U or Intel Core i5-6200U processor, 4GB of 2133MHz GDDR4 memories (16 GB maximum RAM) and storage M.2 SATA3 128GB of SSD or traditional hard drives of 500GB or 1TB (5400 RPM). The highlight of this ultrabook, however, is its screen: a 15.6-inch IPS display with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) with 72% NTSC or Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) with 45% NTSC, both opaque with Tru2Life technology and TruVivid to improve the brightness and color contrast. In addition to the integrated graphics chip, which will characterize the SKU entry-level, this ultrabook will also be equipped with a dedicated GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M or GeForce GTX 960m with 2GB of VRAM.
The rest of the equipment includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and the park consists of two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 modules, a USB 3.1 Type-C, HDMI video output, SD card reader and audio jacks. An HD camera with an integrated microphone and a 48-WHr battery close to the datasheet. Obviously, on board will turn Windows 10 (also in Pro version).
The ASUS ZenBook UX510 (UX510UW) is already present on the ASUS official website and its commercial debut is expected after the summer, for the back-to-school probably. According to reports from Taiwanese company executives, the ultrabook will be available at the starting price of $ 799 in the US. A real bargain
