Dell launches a new version of the Latitude series 5000, equipped with quad-core Intel Skylake for maximum performance and the latest security solutions all in a rugged chassis and pleasant, but thinner and 27% lighter than the 18% than the previous generation. The chassis, in fact, has a structure in polymers reinforced with carbon fiber, which allowed the Latitude notebook 5000 to obtain various certifications in the field of military resistance and durability. The new Latitude 5000 family, already on sale in the US, will arrive soon in Italy in two models: Latitude E5470 14-inch and 15-inch Latitude E5570. Both will be available on our market starting next year at a base price of 730 Euros.
Being a business-oriented series, dedicated especially to the professionals often on the road, the Dell Latitude 5000 continues to show off functionality and security-related services, management and reliability of its data, with some improvements. In addition to encryption owns Dell, protection against malware and authentication options optimized for the Dell, for example, Latitude 5000 provides an extra layer of insulation in credentials, with optional integrated smartcard reader and biometric fingerprint that isolate safe operations through Dell ControlVault. This tool processes and stores critical data authentication on a separate chip, providing a protective barrier safer and reducing the risk of violation of private data caused by the presence of malware. And that’s not all: thanks to the unique characteristics of Latitude portfolio management, IT managers can work with their BIOS settings and configure systems with the flexibility they need.
Moving the equipment hardware, Dell Latitude 14 and Dell Latitude 15 5000 5000 share many of the specifications: have an Intel Core i5 / i7 (Skylake) vPro, with 4GB of RAM and 500GB hard drive, ergonomic keyboard business class with ISO optional backlighting, high density batteries for longer life (up to 17 hours with 84Wh battery on 15H) and of course Windows notebook 10. The two differ only in the diagonal of the 14-inch display HD or Full HD (E5470) or 15.6-inch HD (E5570), with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT and optional touch. Among the changes is also a docking via USB cable Type-C connectivity more efficient (only 15 Latitude 5000 Series quad core), which will be extended to other models in the new year.
