ECS Liva Z NUC Intel Apollo Lake

ECS is already putting the finishing touches to its new generation of mini PCs, and the first to hit the market will be the new ECS Liva Z, a mini NUC format PC that will be equipped with the new Intel Apollo Lake processors.

At the moment there are no official characteristics of the new Liva Z, although ECS has already published official images of the same and you can see in this article. They are expected to reach the market by the end of this year, and from now on we announce that we have talked to ECS and they will send us a sample that we will draw among our readers in the month of December.

In any case, ECS will equip the new Liva Z of the new Intel Apollo Lake SoC, being able to find options with Pentium J4205, Celeron J3455 and Celeron J3355. The J4205 and J3455 have four physical “Goldmont” cores at 1.5 Ghz, and only differ in the integrated GPU and Turbo speed of operation. The J4205 has 18 Execution Units at 800 Mhz and its Turbo speed is 2.6 Ghz while the J3455 has 12 EUs at 700 Mhz and its Turbo speed is 2.3 Ghz. For its part, the J3355 has only two Goldmont cores at 2 Ghz and 2.5 Ghz Turbo with an iGPU of 12 EUs at 700 Mhz.

This new generation of ECS mini PCs also comes with two DDR3 SO-DIMM sockets that support up to 8GB of memory per module, have up to 64GB of embedded eMMC storage for the operating system, and have an M.2 2280 socket for storage . Among its video outputs we can see a mini DisplayPort and an HDMI, being able to connect up to two monitors simultaneously. In its connectivity we find two RJ-45 Gigabit ports and one WLAN controller 802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.0. The rest of its connectivity is completed with three USB 3.1 Type-A (the normal) and a USB 3.1 Type-C (the reversible).

At the moment the specific release date and its price are unknown, but be careful as we said that we expect the manufacturer to send us a unit so that we can draw between you (we will actually talk to them so that the shipment can do so directly from Taiwan and In this way open it to the whole world and not only to Spain).
