The first smartwatch Fossil with Android Wear is official. Fossil Q Founder has a stainless steel water-resistant (IP67) with round display and support for almost all of the straps 22 mm (Fossil offers its leather straps, but for this model there is a steel bracelet). E ‘already available in the US at a price of $ 295 and is, on balance, one of the clocks with Android Wear cheaper on the market, compared for example to Huawei Watch or Moto 360.
Fossil Q Founder is only part of the wearable Fossil, a sector that the company has taken seriously especially after the acquisition for $ 260 million of Misfit. The other models in the range are bracelets Fossil Fossil Q and Q Reveler Dreamer, with support for notifications and monitoring of physical activity, and Fossil Grant Q watch with similar functionality. None of these, however, uses Android Wear, so they have limited support for third-party applications.
From a technical standpoint, Founder Q comes with 4GB of internal memory, 400 mAh battery for up to 24 hours of battery life, Bluetooth 4.1 and various sensors, including a 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope. The watch also has a microphone for voice control, a touch screen for input with fingers and compatibility with devices based on Android 4.4 (or later) and iPhone OS 8 (or higher). I wonder if Fossil has plans to expand the marketing to the European market.
