Within a year Gigabyte has updated three times its 14-inch gaming notebook, so that in a few months Gigabyte P34W is in its fifth generation (v5). It not much has changed appearance: the chassis has remained thin (20.9 mm) and light weight (1.71 kg) of aluminum alloy with a satin finish, elegant and enjoyable even for a professional user, and not only for the classic hardcore gamer. The novelties are all inside, in his hardware equipment updated several times over the last year until the last refresh, the most important.
Gigabyte P34W v5, despite its small tonnage (340 x 239 x 20.9 mm), it is equipped with an Intel Core i7-6700HQ from 2.6GHz (up to 3.5GHz) belonging to the family Skylake, 8-16GB of RAM DDR4 to 2133MHz and mSATA SSD storage up to 512GB and hard drives up to 2TB, combined with a slot SSD M.2 (Type 2280 with support NVMe PCIe X4 & SATA). The 14-inch display can have full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) or QHD (2540 x 1440 pixels), with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M with 6GB / 3GB GDDR5 memory to support the graphics subsystem Intel HD Graphics 530. The notebook supports both Dual-Storage Nvidia Optimus.
On board also a backlit keyboard, three USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C video outputs D-Sub and HDMI 2.0, Kensington Lock, a plug RJ45 for LAN, SD card reader and combo audio jack for line in and Out . Other features include two stereo speakers (1.5W x 2) and microphone, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, built-in webcam and polymer battery Lithium 61.25Wh. Windows 10 (also in the Pro version) or Windows 7 Professional, chosen as the operating system.
