Himedia A5 and H8 Plus

Himedia H8 Plus and A5 are two new October Box Chinese company, specializing in their own TV Multimedia Box. And the two models we have had the opportunity to see live and try for a bit ‘on the occasion of Global Source Electronics Fair 2016 are yet another demonstration that, despite having a slightly different technical details, offer to support 4K video H. 265 3D content BDISO, Kodi and frequent software updates via OTA. Himedia H8 Plus, as the name indicates, is the successor of the H8 model with which it shares much of the data sheet with only a few small hardware improvements. Equipped with a Rockchip RK3368 processor (Cortex-A53) 64-bit octa-core processor, with PowerVR G6110 GPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 16GB eMMC ROM, this model supports the Bluetooth module 4.0 and Gigabit Ethernet port to a WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2.4 / 5GHz) with two antennae on the back, so that should ensure receipt of the most stable and powerful wireless signal. Not even change the operating system, still somewhat limited to Android 5.1 Lollipop, as well as kit interfaces composed of an HDMI 2.0 port that can maintain the high quality of 4K video with H.264 60 fps even on a TV or monitor outside, three USB 2.0 host ports, AV, SPDIF and microSD card reader.
Himedia A5 is instead characterized by a 64-bit processor Amlogic S912 octa-core (Cortex-A53) to 2GHz, with Mali-T820MP3 GPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal memory of eMMC. This model runs on a newer release of Android (Marshmallow), but it has pretty much the same amenities at dell’Himedia H8 Plus: two interfaces and ports (and not three) USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.0, SPDIF, AV, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet and a microSD card reader to expand your storage.

Both Mini PC integrate Kodi 15.2, the Google Play Store and all major app for a complete multimedia use, including YouTube, Twitter, Skype and so on.

Resemble aesthetically: they have slightly different dimensions (Himedia A5 is a bit ‘smaller Himedia H8 Plus), but both use an all-metal chassis that – in addition to providing a sense of strength and solidity to the touch – also facilitates the dissipation the internal heat thus controlling temperatures. Himedia H8 Plus is already available in some online shop at the price of $ 99, while Himedia A5 will come on the market soon at a very similar price.
