Jide has recently presented officially Remix Pro tablet, which we showed you the exclusive video, in addition to unveiling the plans for the second generation of its mini-PC, formerly called Remix Mini and now simply Remix Box PC.
We have not images of Remix PC Box but we know that Jide has gone from Allwinner to Rockchip as a supplier of chipsets. At the heart of the device is in fact a recent Rockchip RK3368 octa-core 1.5GHz accompanied by a maximum amount of 2GB of memory and 16GB of eMMC storage, expandable via microSD up to a maximum of 128GB. Obviously the Rockchip SoC integrates WiFi, Bluetooth and Ethernet 10/100 modules, an I / O controller that manages two USB type-A and a PowerVR GPU SGX6110 600MHz with support for OpenGL ES 3.1 / 1.2 OpenCL / DirectX 9.3.

But the most important fact is another: with hardware accelerated video decoding of H.264 and H.265 formats HEVC, the Jide mini-PC arrives within the entertainment Ultra Definition 4K. These are the specifications so far officially released by Jide, that instead it was not known before today is that the software company has launched a broader cooperation with the chipmaker Rockchip that extends well beyond the Remix Box PC.
Rockchip and Jide have indeed developed a platform for mini-PC Remix OS 3.0 that is called Remix +. Remix Plus is basically a board with very similar characteristics to Remix Box PC but intended to facilitate the development of third-party entities box Remix OS. Although not explicitly refer to the term “reference design” seems to us that Remix + falls in all respects in this category.

Individuals interested in building mini-PC with Remix OS can now directly integrate the board into their custom chassis or they can use Remix + as inspiration or starting point to develop new design with additional features. Possible areas of application are countless, from October pits consumer 4K digital signage and other professional applications because among the available interfaces we notice also a VGA in addition to HDMI 2.0 and 3 USB ports. We do not exclude that Remix Plus can also be chosen by the developers as a development board or as single board maker for their projects.
The reliability and robustness of the Remix + platform is obviously guaranteed by Rockchip, one of the liveliest and most authoritative Chinese chipmaker with prestigious collaborations to his credit (remember, for example, the Intel Atom X3 quad-core Rockchip by?). To Jide is the second hardware partners after Qualcomm and a consolidation of its position in the mini-PC market after the exploit Remix Mini.
