The Lenovo Miix 720 has not yet been officially presented, although its traces are now everywhere. Earlier this month, we discovered some of its technical specifications and after a few days the engineers at the FCC have confirmed (in part), but the new hybrid Chinese company seems now ready for launch. Like the Lenovo Miix Miix 710 and 510, presented at IFA 2016, also Miix 720 is based on a concept 2-in-1 (tablet + keyboard).
The design does not change much compared to other models in the series, it weighs 780 grams and has a 8.9 mm thick aluminum frame, with a kickstand on the back. Adding the keyboard cover, salt weight 1.1Kg while often increases up to 14.6 millimeters. But what are the differences between the three models Miix known until today?
Lenovo Miix 720
Simple: the processor. The Lenovo Miix 510 is equipped with Intel Core Skylake-U processor (15W), while Miix Miix 710 and 720 will have the new Intel Core Kaby Lake chips, but not the same. The first, which is the direct successor of Miix 700 will be based on CPU Kaby Lake-Y (from 4.5W) while the newer model will run on Intel Kaby Lake-U (15W), namely Intel Core i3-7100U 2.4GHz, 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-7200U by (up to 3.1GHz) and Intel Core i7-7500U 2.7GHz to (and up to 3.5GHz). And this also will have some consequences on the cooling system: Miix 710 is the only fanless device (fan-less), while the other two incorporate a fan for heat dissipation. Depending on the model you can configure the tablet with 4GB, 8GB or 16GB of RAM and 128GB SSD storage, 256GB, 512GB and up to 1TB.
But that’s not all, because Lenovo Miix 720 is also the most complete and equipped of the three: it has a 12-inch screen with qHD + resolution (2880 x 1920 pixels), aspect ratio of 3: 2, brightness of 400 cd / m2 and is protected by glass Corning Gorilla glass 4. Lenovo Miix 720-12IKB also supports pen input as a new Lenovo Active pen Stylus 2 that recognizes up 4096 levels of pressure to take notes and draw freehand, but still did not its housing inside the case and you can put in a ring on the right of the cover keyboard, backlit. In the upper frame of the display a 1-megapixel camera is then installed that can be used with Windows Hello to unlock the tablet at a glance, which is paired with a 5 megapixel sensor on the back and a pair of speakers Dolby.

Connectivity is also not far behind: Lenovo Miix 720 integrates a dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 module, a USB 3.0 port and a USB 2.0 full-size (quite rare in recent times), a USB Type-C with stand Thunderbolt 3 and of course audio jack. From the 5319 mAh battery (41 Wh) should ensure the operation for at least 8 hours.
We currently do not know when Lenovo Miix 720 will arrive on the market and at what price, but we can imagine that the Chinese company has decided to hold the presentation of the hybrid at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. Do not expect anything cheap, the price tag could reach $ 1,000.
