Six months ago we had the good fortune to attend the event organized by Lenovo and Google at the CES in Las Vegas, and in addition to demonstrations of the ‘usual’ Tango technology using increasingly sophisticated tablet reference design, is the right interest is created to next smartphone of Chinese house. We’re not talking about a common model like so many on the market, to be honest is the first of its kind to integrate the Tango technology, developed by Google, and ready to get on the consumer market.
The Chinese house made even more, has created three different versions, the true protagonist with integrated Tango is called PHAB2 Pro, and now comes a new family who can see immediately at his side PHAB2 Plus and PHAB2. But first things first.
PHAB2 Pro like no other
The entertainment, gaming and mobile are converging towards towards augmented reality, Lenovo’s commercial response is PHAB2 Pro, equipped with a set of sensors and software created specifically by Google to map the surrounding environment and perceive it as never before. We think the demonstration of augmented reality games seen at the event in January, a new era for gaming that does not have to peep at HTC Lives and company, just a smartphone.
We wanted to take a great idea and turn it into a mobile device that was viable in commercial terms – said Jeff Meredith, vice president and General Manager of Android and Chrome Computing, Lenovo – When we saw Tango, we realized that it would spread like GPS . However, to allow PHAB2 Pro to implement a radical change in gaming, we developed it at an affordable price for the mainstream public, to get a complete phone, innovative, the first of its kind.
The computing power is already available, under the body of PHAB2 Pro delivers the powerful chip Snapdragon 652 (octa-core with four Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A53 4) assisted by the GPU Adreno 510, enough to handle the time-consuming calculations required by Tango technology.
The dimensions are generous, the display width ‘Assertive’ is equal to 6.4 inches and qHD resolution (2560 x 1440), the back is placed a camera with image sensor 16 Mp that supports video recording at 4K (we do not know more in how many fps). Special attention to the audio industry, both the Pro and the rest of the family have in fact PHAB2 speaker Dolby TM Audio Capture 5.1 with Dolby Atmos, complete with three microphones for the elimination of background noise.
The Tango technology – There are three technologies that give life to Tango: motion detection, depth perception and analysis of the surrounding area. Through motion detection, the ‘ “eye” of PHAB2 Pro detects the 3D environment, the analysis of the surrounding area communicates with your smartphone while the position through the perception of depth analyzing the environment by identifying the surfaces and obstacles . Now, for the first time, the smartphone displays and perceives nearby objects and the environment through sensors that perform 250,000 calculations per second.

We await further details, however we speak of a terminal with rear camera 13mp, very bright lens with f2.0 aperture and a Fujitsu Milbeaut processor that drives the Leica cameras. Thanks to the so-called shutterbugs can take pictures of high quality even in low light, backlit and with a nice bokeh effect.
Apparently there are also many dedicated mode within the application of the camera, filters and manual controls, but will deepen as soon as possible on the subject.
