The family of ultraportable Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is among the most popular of the Chinese, because in a thin and light chassis built with high quality materials offers a hardware equipment of first level, unfortunately, almost always at a very accessible price. The first model in the series was launched in 2012 and, since then, Lenovo has updated the range every year with a new version characterized by components and the latest technologies.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is done in three: Carbon, Tablet and Yoga
Reading confidential documents and unearthed by WinFuture forum Chinese 51NB, however, the company may soon change strategy, launching three new ThinkPad X1 (and not just one) next year. Summing up the slide, here is what we can expect in the first quarter 2016:
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, 14-inch notebook in February 2016;
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet, 12-inch tablet with keyboard dock in February 2016;
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga, convertible 14-inch zipper 360 ° in the month of December 2015.
Although we have not officially confirmed by Lenovo, it is logical to expect that the ThinkPad X1 Yoga will make his first public appearance at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, to be held in early January, while the other two models will be presented in a special event or the next MWC 2016 in Barcelona, to be held in late February, although usually Lenovo uses the fair Catalan to renew its fleet ultramobile (smartphones and tablets). They will also be available accessories, including a wireless docking station and a wireless adapter to charge the ThinkPad X1 Carbon.
The roadmap also gives us a preview of the new 13-inch notebook with Windows and Chrome OS for March-April 2016, as well as a refresh of the main ranges of ThinkPad laptops including T-Seres, P-Series, X-Series and L -series.
In particular, it would seem that, next January, Lenovo will replace the current ThinkPad X250 with the new ThinkPad X260, which will keep the same concept and design, it will be updated with new Intel Skylake.
In the same month, will be the turn of the ThinkPad T460, in turn available in two variants and T460p ThinkPad T460s, the latter for the first time equipped with a fingerprint reader that will work just like those integrated in smartphones (then, a few seconds, a light touch and the notebook is unlocked).
