LG Gram 15 is a notebook with 15.6-inch frame and often little more than 18 mm display, but what is most striking is its light weight (weighs less than a kilogram). We previewed at CES 2016 in Las Vegas last January, and we can assure you that – despite its size – you can hold in your hand for a long time without difficulty. We’re not sure, but something tells us that it could be the 15.6-inch laptop lighter on the market. Yeah, because LG Gram 15 is finally on sale in the US from $ 1,100.
There are two versions of the notebook: the basic model with an Intel Core i5 processor (Skylake), 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs $ 1,100, while the Core i7 (Skylake), 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage touches $ 1,500 . Both have been available for pre-order for several months, but only the most expensive model ensured the shipment to the US. After the pre-sale, however we discover that the two SKUs (and not only the top-of-range) are on the price list at Amazon, B & H, Fry’s and Micro Center.
both versions have in common specifications: Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels) 15.6-inch, full-size keyboard with numeric keypad on the right side, USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 3.0 except for the small differences seen above, micro USB, microSD card reader, HDMI port and Windows 10 operating system.
LG Gram 15 has a frame made of magnesium alloy and an integrated battery not replaceable. And this is one of the great mysteries of the notebook: Whereas the chassis is thin and ultra-light weight, do not expect that LG has integrated a very capacious battery, especially to cope with the screen power consumption. In short, how much autonomy will LG 15 Gram? And if it was a little high, what would buy a comfortable notebook, large and light if she’s forced to look for an outlet every 5-6 hours?
We wait with curiosity the first reviews
