Offering a small frame made of aluminum alloy (dimensions: 9 x 6 x 2 cm) with a weight of just 92 grams, Linutop XS is a complete Mini PC based on a Raspberry Pi board 2. In practice, it is the upgraded model of Linutop XS launched last year: it has a quad-core ARM 900 MHz, supported by 1GB of RAM and 4GB of flash memory, of which only 1GB is actually available. It also has good connectivity with HDMI 1.4, a Fast Ethernet port, 3.5 mm audio jack and four USB 2.0 ports.
With a consumption of only 4 watts and fanless design (ie no fan), Linutop XS is designed for a variety of uses, from digital signage to the internet point, from the stores to education, via on-board computer of aircraft and boats. Then, considering its silence, it would be perfect for use in libraries and hotel lobbies. But you can use it as a classic PC with standard applications: on a microSDHC preinstalled suite LibreOffice productivity, Epiphany to surf the web and VLC for playing media. So there’s everything to use it every day at home or in the office and with the VESA you can hide behind the monitor. Linutop XS is provided with the operating system Linutop OS, based on Raspbian.
The price of the Mini PC complete (both hardware and software), thus already configured and pre-installed applications, is 189 Euros.
