Although the announcement did not happen at CES 2016, NE took advantage of the fair in Las Vegas to expand its line of hybrid 2-in-1 with a new LaVie 11.6-inch model, with detachable keyboard dock. We wish to clarify that, despite the Japanese company does not distribute its products in Europe (and in Italy), we do not exclude that in the near future the same devices arrive in our country with the Lenovo brand, since the Chinese company detected NEC’s PC division a few years ago and has already some of its ultraportable. Hence the launch of LaVie Zero Hybrid takes on a new value, even for us.
NEC LaView Hybrid Zero
At the moment we do not know the full specification or sales prices. We only know that LaVie Zero Hybrid is a tablet for premium customers, chassis with magnesium alloy and spare battery in the keyboard dock for extensive autonomy. It is not the first device in the family, since last year debuted the convertible (360 ° hinge) LaVie Zero Hybrid 13.3 inches, but unlike the older brother’s new LaVie Zero Hybrid concept adopts a 2-in-1 that removes the keyboard (and thus save weight) unless you have a need to write.
In the notebook mode (then with the keyboard attached), NEC LaVie Zero Hybrid weighs about a kilogram, but the only tablet does not exceed 500 grams. On board, the Japanese company has decided to install an Intel Core M (Skylake) and a camera Intel RealSense 3D, a platform therefore more modest than the Core i5 / i7 (Broadwell) in the 13.3-inch version that despite size, weighs just over 900 grams.
For now, we’ll talk about it in time for marketing or something for some ribranding.
