9.7 inches and the news will appeal especially to the “serial readers”, that often at this time are complaining about the lack of diagonal device market by 8-9 inches with no presentations or official announcements, Onyx has launched two “new” ebook-reader except for those 4-5 models (sometimes also impossible to find). Onyx Boox N96 and N96ML are not yet on sale, but the product page on the company website states “coming soon.” He also tells us more: with the exception of a new design and some minor renovation, the two e-readers have basically the same amenities at Onyx Boox M96.
Onyx Boox N96 and N96ML are two variants of the same device: the first model has a capacitive touch screen digitizer more, to be able to interact with both fingers with an electromagnetic induction pen, the other has just a touch display with digitizer and is frontlight. There you can also recognize the color, pink gold and black. The rest of the specifications in common, as both e-readers are based on a processor (Cortex-A9) 1GHz and Android 4.0, with a E-Ink Pearl screen 9.7-inch (1200 x 825 pixels). In short, if it were not for the frontlight display and the optional dual-touch technology, the two players would be identical to the Boox M96.
What really changes is the design: Onyx Boox N96 has an aluminum alloy frame, which should be more robust than the creaky dell’M96 plastic, and is also thinner (9.5 mm) and lightweight (450 grams). Also new is the internal memory, leavened to 16GB, while the RAM is between 512MB and 1GB for N96 for Boox Boox N96ML. Both support microSD cards up to 32GB. On board also physical buttons, Bluetooth, support for audio and recording, and a 3000 mAh battery that should work for up to 4 weeks.
You can find more information on the two new ebook-reader on the Onyx product page. At the moment we have no details on specific launch date and the price.
