Pocketbook has announced its new InkPad 2, an updated version of the ebook reader launched in 2014. The first generation was much appreciated by readers, as to be considered one of the best series of e-readers in recent years: you just think that the ergonomic design (held easily with one hand) inspired Amazon that only later launched its Kindle Oasis. In short, it was (and still is) the device that provides the best reading experience thanks to its large 8 “display.
Pocketbook InkPad 2 retains the same design, the screen size and a large part of the technical specifications of its predecessor, but it weighs less and is equipped with a slightly better screen. This model integrates a 1GHz CPU, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM expandable with microSD card slot. On board, there is also a WiFi module and jacks for headphones. It runs on a proprietary operating system (such as InkPad) with pre-installed some applications and supports major ebook formats, TTS and MP3 as well as a variety of formatting options.
The display E-Ink Pearl 8 “has a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels, capacitive touch just like the first inkpad, but has improved in” quality. “We do not know exactly what it refers Pocketbook, but probably we will have a confirmation just by looking live and maybe comparing it with the old model. the other difference is in the weight: inkPad 2 weighs 305 grams (about 45 grams less than the previous year) and integrates a 2500 mAh battery for a range of “about a month.” Not bad.
PocketBook InkPad 2 is already available in selected markets and on the official website of the company at a price of 199 Euros.
