At the same event in which the Surface Studio and Microsoft provided the first details on the next update “Windows 10 Creators Update”, which will be available for free for all in the early months of 2017, it was launched was also presented an updated version of Redmond hybrid notebook, called Surface Book i7. Despite the expectations, this device is not very different from the model that preceded it if it were not for an increase in graphics performance (about twice), and greater autonomy (30% more).
To ensure more power, Microsoft had to redesign the internal architecture of the thermal system from the entire notebook that – in this last generation – provides a cooler with dual fans. Essentially Surface Book i7 is aesthetically identical to last year’s Surface Book, with its aluminum chassis and the flexible hinge, but is updated in some technical specifications by adopting a new interior design.
Surface Book i7 reaches now an autonomy of 16 consecutive hours and, like its predecessor, has a display of 13.5-inch detachable touch, with support for the Surface Pen, Skylake and Intel processors (up to Core i7), 8- 16GB of RAM and storage from 256GB / 512GB / 1TB of SSD. The graphics component is represented by a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 965m with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
E ‘already on pre-order in the US at a price of $ 2399 starting with shipments from November 10, but at the moment it is unclear whether the distribution will also be open to Europe (including Italy).

The model of the Surface Book “entry-level” will continue to be available starting at $ 1,499, as well as the Surface Pro tablet will have a base price of $ 899, but Microsoft has decided to discount some models. For example, at this time, a Surface Book with Core i5, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of space is on offer for $ 1,349.
