A few hours after the official release of Windows 10 – as promised – Toshiba announced two new tablet 2-in-1 with the latest operating system from Redmond, although its not unusual. This is the Toshiba Toshiba Encore Encore 10 and 10K, two devices that we learned about since last May under the name Toshiba Satellite Click 10, as reported in some official documents, certifications and shop online. At the moment we do not know if the Japanese company will retain both brands, maybe destining to different markets, but in the US their name is already decided.
Be careful not to confuse them with the Toshiba Encore 2 10 launched last July, because they have a data sheet completely different. Toshiba Encore 10 is a stand-alone tablet, while Toshiba Encore 10K is a hybrid with the keyboard dock. Both have a 10.1-inch IPS display Full HD 10 contact points, Windows 10 or Windows 10 Pro as needed, and an introductory price of $ 299, respectively, and $ 479. Will be on sale from September.
The magnesium alloy case rendeleggeri them: just 589 grams (one tablet) and about one pound with the keyboard dock. Under the shell, Toshiba has installed a quad-core Intel Atom x5 (Cherry Trail) 1.4GHz and up to 1.84GHz in Turbo Burst, 2GB or 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 64GB SSD as well as two cameras from 2:08 megapixel. As for connectivity, there is a module WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0, microHDMI, micro USB 2.0 (tablet) and a slot for microSD cards. The keyboard dock instead has a USB 3.0 full-size on its side.
Toshiba Encore 10 (one-tablet) has a range of 7 hours, while Toshiba Encore 10K (with dock) nearly 11 hours, thanks to an extra battery integrated into the keyboard. The price in USA of Toshiba Encore 10 is $ 299 with Windows 10 and $ 399 with Windows 10 Pro. Toshiba Encore 10K will cost $ 479, then $ 180 in addition to a keyboard, more autonomy and some additional interface.
