Zidoo X 5 is official. It is a mini PC based on Amlogic S905 and positioned at the lower end of the market, unlike, for example, the recent Minix NEO U1 equipped with the same chip but belongs to an upper middle class. In this case, the TV Box is configured with only 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB of internal memory expandable eMMC with a microSD card slot, but the highlight is always the processor. Amlogic S905 is a quad-core SoC (Cortex-A53) with a maximum frequency of 2GHz and graphics penta-core ARM Mali-450MP, then enough to handle hardware decoding 4K @ 60 Hz to 10-bit video H.265 / HEVC and AVS +.
Zidoo X5, in fact, integrates an HDMI 2.0 for video streams up to 4K @ 60Hz with CEC support, 3.5 mm audio jack, AV, optical S / PDIF ports, two USB 2.0 and infrared (IR) to remotely control with a controller. Connectivity relies on the usual 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi module, Bluetooth 4.0 and Fast Ethernet. We do not know the size of the frame, but for certain is constructed of plastic and is a bit ‘different from that of previous models. Rounded edges, smooth lines and silver color.
The Mini PC runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but be assured that it will be stable. Based on experience with other Mini PC company, Zidoo tends to release its products ‘a little’ ahead of its competitors “(probably to anticipate the market) but is committed to providing regular firmware updates, patches and ROM. And this has built much of its popularity. Zidoo X5 has not yet been officially introduced on the market, so we do not know the selling price, but the company is taking orders from distributors and dealers for at least 20 units. It should not miss much.
