Acer Nitro 5

After announcing it last month at Next @ Acer Next @ Acer, the Taiwanese company releases the features, availability and price of the new Acer Nitro 5, a casual gaming notebook. These laptops, the first in the series, offer a good balance between powerful performance and cutting edge design. Acer offers a variety of configurations that include different graphics and processors, giving consumers a wider choice and the ability to meet different needs.

Users can choose dedicated graphics configurations – such as that provided by Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 – combined with Intel Core i7 (Kaby Lake) processors or models with AMD Radeon RX550 with seventh generation AMD A-series processors. All of these models use Windows 10 and support up to 32GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 memory.

In order to reduce start-up time and shorten loading times during play, models come with super-fast SSD (up to 512 GB) SSDs coupled to an optional HDD storage (up to 2TB). A Gigabit Ethernet port provides fast and reliable wired connections, while wireless MIMO 802.11ac 2×2 wireless technology offers better wireless connectivity. The wide range of ports includes a USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen 1) input, a USB 3.0 port that also allows charging, two USB 2.0 and an HDMI 2.0 port that can support up to 90 Hz refresh rate .

Obviously, no gaming system is complete without a solution that can handle excessive heat and keep the system running optimally. The Nitro 5 then unites its Acer Coolboost technology with its dual fan, which increases the speed of the two fans and allows users to manually control the device’s cooling system when excessive use demands it.

All models come with a bright, brilliant IPS Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) display, while Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technologies deliver exceptional sound. All this contributes to the creation of a completely immersive experience, both for gaming and movie viewing.
The sophisticated design of the Nitro 5 is characterized by an opaque black frame with fine finishes. A slim red zipper runs along the notebook body, the keyboard is backlit, also red, while the WASD buttons and the touchpad are highlighted in red for ease of use. Acer Nitro 5 will be available in EMEA for August from $ 1,199
