Archos has added a new device “Cesium”, but it is not a smartphone or a tablet instead of a laptop. It is not the first time that the French company is measured by the mobile world (remember Archos Flip, the convertible with Cherry Trail and Windows 10?), But the Archos 140 Cesium is the first CloudBook this in its offer, namely a notebook “clamshell” with a technical configuration entry-level and an affordable price. The official announcement has not yet happened, but should miss very little since the product page on the site Archos is already set up with technical specifications, descriptions and images and the first shop (French) have already begun to add it to their database. One for all: RueduCommerce sells to 198 Euros in Christmas promotion from 249 Euros required to list.
Like all CloudBook, Archos also Cesium 140 has a data sheet modest but sufficient to handle all daily activities. In white polycarbonate chassis, rather basic, the French company has installed a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F from 1.33GHz, with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage expandable with microSD cards up to 128GB. The IPS screen, as you might have guessed from the name of the device, has a diagonal of 14.1 inches with HD resolution (1366 x 768 pixels) and a 2-megapixel webcam on the upper frame. No shortage of modules 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 2.0 ports, a mini HDMI and audio jacks.
Measuring 251 x 233 x 20 mm and weighs 900 grams, not much considering that Archos has equipped its notebooks with a large 10000 mAh battery that should provide a range of 8 hours. Obviously on board, there’s Windows 10 with the productivity suite that includes Excel Mobile, Word Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile. We just have to wait so the official announcement and hope that, in the programs of Archos, is also provided for the Italian distribution.
