From a few minutes ended the press event ASUS “Zensation” at Computex 2015, and, as usual, on stage Jonney Shih defined the future of Taiwan with a roundup of new devices, we will see the market between September and December 2015. Although the press conference was devoted (almost) exclusively to the line “Zen” (ZenPad tablet, smartphone Zenfone, AIO Zen and smartwatch ZenWatch 2), ASUS has found a small niche for the new hybrid 2-in-1 Transformer Book T100HA, a refresh of the famous family.
This model will be among the first to market with Windows 10 pre-installed, so it is logical to think that will be for sale after July, with a quad-core Intel Atom Z8500-x5 (Cherry Trail) to 1.44GHz (and up to 2.16GHz), 2GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of eMMC flash memory, depending on the SKU. As the full range ASUS T100, even this version is equipped with a 10.1-inch IPS screen with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels or 1366 x 768 pixels, it is still unclear), which may engage with a keyboard dock and turn into a mini-notebook if necessary.
The combo tablet + keyboard dock weighs 1.4 Kg, while the tablet only just 580 grams with a thickness of 8:54 mm and an aluminum cover. At the bottom there are two stereo speakers. With its battery and benefits d Cherry Trail, the new ASUS Transformer Book T100HA should touch the 14 hours of battery life, but the Taiwanese company is not currently accurate. Regarding the connectivity, however, it is appreciated the presence of a USB Type-C on the tablet and a USB 3.0 standard integrated in the keyboard dock, which can accommodate in its interior a hard disk.
For now ASUS has not skewed on the price and release date, but according to initial indications ASUS Transformer Book T100HA will be available in the US in Q3 2015 (by September) at a starting price of only $ 279 with the keyboard dock, in four colors (White Silk, Tin Grey, Aqua Blue and Rouge Pink). Waiting for our hands-on, enjoy the first pictures of the hybrid a few minutes after his presentation.
