Between the pages of the official site ASOS appeared a new name: ASUS VivoBook Flip TP200. No, it is a mistake because the Taiwanese company provides us with images, technical specifications and a detailed description of its main features, though apparently may seem a device already seen. Indeed already on the market.
According to what we read online, ASUS VivoBook Flip TP200 is a cross between the popular series ASUS VivoBook and that of convertible ASUS Transformer Book Flip it – look closely – not updated now by 2014. Basically, this new device has the same design of VivoBook but inherits the concept of Transformer Flip Book in a new format, not yet experienced in the series. TP200 (and in particular the model TP200SA) indicates the diagonal: 11.6 inches. We do not know if the launch of VivoBook Flip TP200 decrees, without appeal, the retirement of the series Transformer Book, but we had already had a first alarm bell when by chance we discovered the existence of the series ASUS ASUS Q552 and Q553, the Transformer Book Flip TP500 updated and renamed.
ASUS VivoBook Flip TP200SA is a convertible rather thin (297 x 201.3 mm x 18:45) and compact (1.2 kg), has a special hinge that allows the display to rotate up to 360 degrees, transforming the notebook in tablet mode and intermediate ( stand and tent). The frame should be made of polycarbonate, but it is much more elegant and refined of the series Transformer Book Flip. It will be available in two colors many beautiful: dark blue crystal and silver. It is not a hybrid but powerful, like other models in the series, is a device suitable for medium-low main tasks in a portable format.
Under the shell ASUS may install quad-core Intel Pentium processor N3700 or N3050 dual-core Intel Celeron (Braswell), up to 4GB of RAM (unfortunately welded) and storage from 32GB / 64GB of eMMC or 128GB of SSD further expandable with a microSD card slot. The touch screen has a 11.6-inch HD resolution (1366 x 768 pixels), but you’ll be pleased to know that the interfaces between ASUS has added the new USB Type-C next to pote USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Micro HDMI, and audio jacks. There is no lack 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1. The audio is managed by the SonicMaster technology and the handset has a VGA webcam and a battery of 38 WHr for declared autonomy of 8 hours. On board there is Windows 10.
The new ASUS VivoBook Flip TP200SA is not yet available on the market, but the arrival should not be too far away. Probably we are back to talk about it at the CES 2016, where perhaps ASUS will present and exhibit for the first time in public
