As always, the X-Series from ASUS is recognized as the N-Series range of cheaper, to the materials used and the technical specifications that distinguish its models. After the official launch of the new ASUS N552 and N752, then, the Taiwanese company has introduced three new entry-level notebook: ASUS X756, X556 and X456, though the latter model (like its predecessors) is unlikely to be available on the market Italian. The design is reminiscent of that of counterparts roughly mid-range, but each model will be available in various configurations and colors: Glamor Red (red), Chocolate Brown (brown) and Arctic Snow (white) with a glossy finish, while Navy Blue (blue) and Icicle Gold (gold) will have a brushed metal finish (matte).
As for hardware equipment, all models will be equipped with dual-core Intel Skylake U-choice from Core i3-6100U from 2.3 GHz to 2.5GHz Core i7-6500U by, with RAM up to 8GB DDR3L (but expandable up to 16GB) and solid state drive storage from 256GB as an alternative to hard disk 500GB to 2TB of space. The integrated graphics Intel HD will then be supported by a graphics card chosen from the Nvidia GeForce 920M, GeForce 940M or GeForce 930m.
The initials of the three models obviously give us information about their diagonal: ASUS X756 will have a 17.3-inch display, the ASUS X556 adopts a 15.6-inch while ASUS X456 is the smallest with a 14-inch panel, with HD resolution (1366 x 768 pixels), HD + (1600 x 900 pixels) or Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) for those with diagonal. Connectivity is similar to that of the brothers N-Series, with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, USB 3.1 (January 1), HDMI, VGA, card reader SD / SDHC / SDXC card, WiFi, Bluetooth and Ethernet. In this case, the DVD Super Multi is optional and Windows 10 Pro can be installed as an alternative to Windows 10 Home.
All ASUS X Series use lithium polymer batteries (2 cells), designed to withstand up to 700 charge cycles, providing 2.5 times more autonomy than traditional lithium batteries and retaining up to 80% of their capacity original charge even after hundreds of cycles. At the moment there are no known details of price and availability, either in the US or in Italy.
