Epson EH-TW7300 and EH-TW9300 HDR

Epson has announced the European versions of the 5040UB projector, 5040UBe and 4040. The upcoming models are called EH-TW9300, EH-TW7300 and EH-TW9300W. TW9300 uses 3LCD panels from 0.74 “MLA (Micro Lens Array). The native resolution is Full HD. The projector can simulate the Ultra HD 4K resolution thanks to technology enhancement, already seen on the model Laser EH-LS10000. The operation is similar to that of the JVC eshift technology: the projector operates by shifting the half-pixel images diagonally. TW9300 is also compatible with the content in HDR (High Dynamic Range).

The brightness reaches 2,500 lumens (both CLOs, Color Light Output is WLO, White Light Output). The 250W lamp is credited with a duration of 3,500 hours in standard mode and 5,000 in low power mode. The dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1 (there is a dynamic iris). The lens is fully motorized: the zoom is 2.1x and is also the lens-shift (the ability to translate images into vertical and horizontal), with a range ± 96.3% vertically and ± 47.1 % in Horizon.

TW9300 also offers 10 memories for the position of the lens, so you can automatically recall the settings (it is a useful feature for those who use screens in 21: 9: in this way there is no need to manually adjust all the parameters). The throw ratio is 1.35 to 2.84: 1. It is also guaranteed to be fully compatible with the 3D (via active glasses). The videos in three dimensions are managed at 480Hz (240Hz in 2D ones).

The available connections include a USB 2.0 Type A, USB 2.0 Type B (for service functions), an RS-232C port, optional WLAN connectivity, a VGA input, two HDMI 2.0a inputs with HDCP 2.2 and an Ethernet port. The EH-TW9300W variant adds HDMI wireless connectivity with a separate transmitter. EH-TW9300W (white) color will be available at the price of 3,699 euros while the price of EH-TW9300 (black) has not been defined yet (it will cost several hundred Euros less).

On the lower end is positioned EH-TW7300. The technology used is the same, as well as the panels. To differentiate this from other models are the lower contrast ratio (160,000: 1), the absence Dynamic iris, the lower brightness (2300 lumens) and the absence of controls necessary to achieve ISF calibration. All the rest of the features (including support for HDR and 4K technology Enhancement) follows the pattern proposed by TW9300 and TW9300W. The list price is set at 2,599 euros
