A few days after the issue (although perhaps it would be better to speak of re-introduction) of shield portable Tablet K1, cheaper but with the same specifications of the first version called en masse last summer to battery problems, his successor emerges online. On GFX-Bench, check a new shield portable Tablet X1 and much of its data sheet. Obviously at the moment we can not confirm the technical characteristics (often GFX-Bench does not detect exactly the components) of the tablet, but is at least a first clear sign of its existence.
As its name suggests, shield portable Tablet X1 is equipped with a Nvidia Tegra processor X1, so far used by the Santa Clara Shield only in TV Console with solid performances. At his side then 3GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage, but we do not exclude that they are provided for other SKUs. Certainly, users undecided between the old and the new Shield Tablet will have one more reason to buy the latest model, given that the current version has only 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. The screen instead stay with 8-inch diagonal and Full HD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels), probably still equipped with active digitizer for input from Stylus, we do not know if it will be included in the package.
The technical solutions continues with modules for connectivity-without wires, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Absent NFC and 4G-LTE. Turning to the software, Nvidia Shield Tablet X1 should be equipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a release that Santa Clara promised to optimize for shield portable Tablet K1. At the moment we do not know when it launches the new Tablet Shield, but probably the ad is already planned for January at the CES 2016. The price? Whereas the current Shield Tablet K1 costs 199 Euros, it is logical to think that Tablet X1 Shield can start from 299 euro. We will see.
