RKM MK 06 is a new Android TV box, the successor of RKM MK05 with SoC Amlogic S805 launched more than a year ago and for sale on the Asian market for just over 60 Euros (exchange rate). The latest model, as is imaginable, offers a hardware platform based on the latest chip Amlogic S905 (ARM Cortex-A53) with 450MP5 Mali GPU, 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB of internal memory eMMC. In practice is one of those mini-end PCs economic (if you want something more complete, we recommend taking a look at the Minix Neo U1, the highest category), but despite that the processor supports playback of 4K video at 60 fps the HDMI 2.0 (instead of the old HDMI 1.4b) allows the flow in ultra high definition (4K) on TV and external monitor.
The rest of the technical equipment includes three USB 2.0 ports (what a pity!), One OTG, S / PDIF, microSD card reader, digital audio output port and RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 (replacing the Ethernet 10 / 100 MK05). There are also a 802.11n WiFi module and a Bluetooth 4.0. Everything is managed by the operating system Android 5.1 Lollipop. Essentially, MK05 and MK06 are the same with very few differences can be summarized in: processor, Ethernet, HDMI and OS.
As for the design, Rikomagic kept the same chassis for RKM RKM MK05 MK06, a chassis black polycarbonate (116 x 112 x 18.91 mm) with a glossy finish and a geometric pattern on the cover. The new TV box will soon be available on the Chinese market at a price of about 70 euro, shipping included. In the box, you’ll also find an IR remote control, USB cable and HDMI, and the usual manual.
