Yashi Nucky F5

A few days of the announcement of the range of ultra-compact mini-PC and Yashi Nucky, the Italian manufacturer already adds a new model primarily intended for industrial applications. It’s called Nucky F5 and has interesting features for its target audience.

As its variant “civil” Nucky 5, include Yashi Nucky F5 has a design totally fanless that provides low noise but also to improved durability in time without having to carry out special maintenance. To promote cooling of the internal components and to avoid the risk of overheating, also, Nucky F5 is provided with an aluminum frame with a series of fins to increase the heat exchange surface. The aluminum chassis acts as a sort of huge passive heatsink allowing to control the temperature of the Intel Core i5.
Presented as a compact PC from 0dB, however, Yashi Nucky F5 is not completely silent. To ensure good storage capacity at an affordable cost, it opted for a magnetic hard disk SATA3 500GB, which is definitely a tried and tested and reliable solution but it is a mechanical component subject to wear and it generates some noise, albeit negligible, during use.

Of course you can replace the traditional mechanical hard drive with a SSD at a later date, then it is not an insurmountable problem. Instead, what you can not easily change later, unless you compromise the overall dimensions with the addition of external adapters, it is the provision of interfaces that fortunately on Nucky F5 is particularly rich. We find two serial, 2 RJ45 Ethernet LAN configured in Teaming, 2 HDMI, 2 USB 2.0, four USB 3.0, provision for two external antennas and connectors internal Mini PCI Express interfaces for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, modem 3G / 4G.

But it lacks an internal power supply, replaced by an external power supply of 12V. This solution allows on one hand the mobility of use in cars, vans, campers, boats, operating means industrial and any other mobile station, and on the other hand allowing space in the chassis to accommodate two drives in RAID.
For the moment there is only one configuration Yashi Nucky F5, serial NY5501, with Windows 7 Pro, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 2-year warranty, extendable by BTO options. The price of 800 euro may seem excessive to home users but is not likely to deter professional buyers.
